He’s smart
He’s charming. He’s Dexter Morgan, America’s favorite serial killer, who spends his days solving crimes and his nights committing them. In season 8, Angel Batista wasn’t always played by David Zayas.
Dexter Morgan: I lived in the dark for a long time
His son, David Zayas Jr., replaces his father in some scenes because the two look remarkably alike. Dexter, who is seen throughout the first season, has a large scar on his left side. Later, in season two, the scar moved to his right side, leaving his left side unmarked.

Over the years, my eyes adjusted until the dark became my world and I could see. Main Theme Written by Rolfe Kent, played by Rolfe Kent. Dexter, a forensic scientist by day, a serial killer with a vigilante streak by night.
Dexter creates a believable and very detailed portrait of a troubled sociopath, shall we say
One of the parts of the show that I like the most is the emotions that normal people display, forcing Dexter to imitate them. It’s a good laugh when the emotions that Dexter fakes become real and he is afraid to die, as in his relationship with his “girlfriend” Rita, a mother of two and the victim of an abusive ex-boyfriend. I also liked Jennifer Carpenter’s performance as Dexter’s sister Debra, she gives the show a nice color without falling into clichés.
