But after episode 1, I will confirm that this show is awesome (so far)
I thought Colin Farrell was great as the Penguin in Batman, but I never understood taking a skinny, attractive actor and putting him in huge prosthetics and a fat suit… especially when I think he looks like other famous actors who were also just as good. I also didn’t really understand why this spin-off would come along and frankly, I’m tired of Batman reboots. I watched it just knowing that it was a necessary bridge between the first and second movie and my surprise at Farrell in my role in the first one.
But I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did
The acting is great, the script is superb, and it surprised me with some quick twists. What I liked the most was the fact that there was a lot more color in this than in Batman. I noticed it almost immediately as it was a big complaint of mine about the movie (I felt like I was watching it through Zack Snyder’s lens).
