It’s a great adaptation
Line of Events
In the eternal city of Macondo, seven generations of the Buendía family navigate love, oblivion, and the inevitability of their past and destiny. This is Netflix’s most expensive Latin American project to date, involving Colombian groups and local communities building props and scenery for the show.
At the same time, it respects the Colombian nation and society in ethnic and cultural terms
We start with great photography, a good script, and creative direction with an approach that respects the original work. They also diligently adapt the events of the book and use resources such as conceptual shots to complement the narrative.
Traditions, music, food, and racial diversity are part of the universe of Macondo, as well as the history that makes up the years of Colombia’s violent past
This gives way to what is its chronology, which is perfectly woven, resulting in slightly different content of the product, but not a negative development of the story. In fact, it is a very dedicated and quite faithful work that evokes the nostalgia of One Hundred Years of Solitude and the artistic impact that Latin American literature and the work of García Márquez had on later generations.
